This will mean a delay of all South Island parcels despatched last night . They are looking to move the volumes from todays sailing over the weekend but please expect 1 to 2 days delay.

 

Please also note that the main State Highway 6 (SH6) between Blenheim and Nelson is closed until 18th December 2022 for major road repairs, and this will cause delays into Nelson.

Following on from last week’s Polar Blast that cancelled Cook Strait Ferry Sailings and closed Roads throughout the North and South Islands that delayed some deliveries into this week we are now seeing large early Christmas volumes coming through the network.

Please be advised.

  • All South Island deliveries are delayed due to the Bluebridge Ferry running behind schedule and Interisland Ferry have cancelled two sailings a day until Saturday 15th October due to resource issues. Please allow 1 to 2 days extra for all South Island deliveries through until next week.

 

  • There are also delays to some North Island destinations due to the large volume of parcels moving through the network, and please allow an extra 1 to 2 days in some cases.  Branches will be operating over the coming weekend to bring deliveries up to date.

Due to the Polar Blast moving up the country please expect delays to both North Island and South Island destinations.

 

  • The Desert Road and the alternative routes are closed therefore please allow 1 to 2 extra days for delivery depending on when the roads reopen.

 

  • Cook Strait Ferry sailings have been cancelled due high swells, affect all South Island deliveries.

 

  • Please allow an extra 2 – 3 days for South Island deliveries as various South Island roads are closed.

 

Depending on when the weather clears it may take the weekend to recover and some deliveries may not be until early next.

This will delay deliveries to all South Island destinations by one to three days until the backlog is cleared.

 

With heavy rain sweeping up the North Island we also expect delays to North Island destination tonight.

Cook Strait Ferries Cancelled

Due to extreme weather conditions moving up New Zealand all Cook Strait Ferry Services have been cancelled for today.

The earliest we expect services to resume is Thursday 14th October 2021 weather permitting.

This will mean at least a one day delay in delivery for all South Island Parcel Deliveries.
